Spring brought some wild weather—lots of rain and heavy winds—but we’re grateful for what the season has provided from our own backyard.
This year we’ve been working hard to build healthier soil using Compost, Worm Castings, and Activated Biochar.
The biochar has been especially helpful in loosening up our dense clay soil, and the worm castings are packed with beneficial soil bacteria and fungi. We’ve heavily amended our brassicas with them, and so far they’ve been thriving—no pest issues.
We’re also starting a native plant landscape for our chickens to forage and enjoy. More to come on that project soon.

If you’re looking to grow more food from your own backyard, It's never too late to invest in your soil. It truly is a gift to grow the healthiest foods from our own backyards.
